A lover of all things cosmetic and a believer in retail therapy, Amy Wheeler has taken advantage of every opportunity to research and evaluate cosmetic products for over twenty years. As a first grade teacher, Amy longed for a beautifully colored, protective lip gloss that was long lasting and easy to apply in the absence of a mirror.
The story of Amy Wheeler, founder of TALLULAH cosmetics begins in 2006 with Amy searching for a product to fit flawlessly into her role as a beauty addict turned first grade teacher.
Amy started each morning (8am) talking through the past night’s events with her class of six year olds. Words of encouragement and enthusiasm left her lips, which were habitually painted with a shimmering nude gloss. By the end of this thirty minute reenactment it was oh so deliberately pointed out, that Ms. Wheeler’s lips had lost their prettiness. It was also more than clear to Ms. Wheeler that the prettiness could not be reapplied until lunch time when she had access to a mirror and a little alone time.
Far away from first grade and getting her routine cosmetic fix amongst all the newest mineral powders, it hit her. Lip gloss with minerals! Minerals that shine for an undeniably plump pout, minerals that bind to skin for a long lasting wear, and minerals that reflect light to protect lips from sun damage. All of this mineral bliss in a squeeze tube with a slant tip applicator for a no mess, no mirror, application. In one mind blowingly creative thought, Amy was a beauty junkie/first grade teacher on her way to a new and very entrepreneurial destiny.
"Wonderful! What would following this destiny really get me? Probably just a negative checking balance due to the multitude of mineral products I’d have to purchase as research.”
Nevertheless, she began researching, sampling, and networking to find out just how she could create and follow a dream made of sparkle and shine. She has since unveiled her own cosmetics company, picked up 20 US retailers to sell glossary, and appeared as a feature story in ten major publications including, San Francisco’s own celebrity news/beauty blog,

Equally as important as that perfect pout that TALLULAH cosmetics has given the world, is the story that "glossary" tells.
